This policy explains how Cheeky's Heat Pumps collects, uses, stores and shares your personal information when you visit this website, contact us or have us work at your property. We follow the Privacy Act 2020.
Who we are
Cheeky's Heat Pumps provides heat pump and air conditioning installation, servicing, cleaning and repairs, and home ventilation across the Auckland region. We are responsible for your personal information under the Privacy Act 2020 and its information privacy principles (IPPs).
You can reach us through the contact page on this website or by calling the number shown on every page.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to respond to you and do the job (IPP 1). Depending on how you deal with us, this can include:
- Your name, phone number and email address
- The property address or suburb, and details about the job, including any photos you send
- Your preferred time for a visit or a call back
- The page you sent a form from and how you found us, for example the campaign name in the link you clicked
- For calls to the number on this website, the number you called from, the time of the call and how you found us
How we collect it
Mostly from you: when you fill in a form, use the chat, book online, call us or talk to us on site. We may also receive information from someone acting for you, such as a property manager.
Why we collect it
To answer your enquiry, prepare a quote, book and carry out the work, invoice you, meet our legal obligations, and understand which of our advertising works.
Where your information goes
When you send a form, a chat message or a booking, your details are stored in our lead system, a secure database, and in a Google Sheet that our team uses to follow up enquiries. A notification with your details is also posted to our team's private Slack workspace so the right person can call you back quickly.
WhatConverts is our call and form tracking provider. Calls to the number on this website may go through WhatConverts, which logs the details listed above so we know which advertising led to the call. When you send a form on this website, WhatConverts also records the details you enter and the page or advert that led to it.
Some of these providers store information outside New Zealand, for example in Australia or the United States. Under IPP 12 we only use providers that protect personal information in ways comparable to New Zealand law.
Keeping it secure (IPP 5)
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Access is limited to the people who need it to do their job.
How long we keep it (IPP 9)
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it. Job and invoice records are kept for as long as tax and building laws require.
Accessing and correcting your information (IPP 6 and 7)
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Contact us and we will respond within 20 working days.
Privacy breaches
If a privacy breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and the people affected, as the Privacy Act 2020 requires.
Marketing
We will only send you marketing messages if you have agreed to them, and every message tells you how to opt out.
Job applicants
If you apply for a role, we use your information to assess your application and, if you agree, to contact your referees.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page.
Questions and complaints
If you have a question or a concern about privacy, contact us through the contact page or by phone. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at www.privacy.org.nz.
